Named one of Variety’s Ten Comics to Watch for 2016, Aparna Nancherla has carved out a space for herself in comedy with transparency and self-examination. A former writer on Late Night with Seth Meyers and Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell, Nancherla heads to MIT this spring for a moderated discussion on her career and her honesty about her struggles with depression. MIT philosophy professor Kieran Setiya will moderate.

Aparna Nancherla is a comedian and host of the long-running underground comedy show, Whiplash, at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater in New York. She has appeared on Conan, @midnight, Adam Devine’s House Party, and NBC’s Last Comic Standing.Moderator: Kieran Setiya is a philosophy professor at MIT and author of five books including Midlife: A Philosophical Guide to be published in 2017.
