Moments of Innovation Exhibit at IDFA

Last November, CMS’s Open Documentary Lab unveiled “Moments of Innovation – When Documentary and Technology Converge”, an exhibit and website at the International Documentary Film Festival, Amsterdam (IDFA) that demonstrated just how dramatically key technological developments affected how documentary makers think about, and practice, their craft.

Open Doc Lab principal investigator and CMS professor William Uricchio spoke at IDFA and described the work around “Moments of Innovation”, both the project itself an what its lessons tell us about documentary in the future.

About Andrew Whitacre

Andrew directs the communications efforts for CMS/W and its research groups. A native of Washington, D.C., he holds a degree in communication from Wake Forest University, with a minor in humanities, as well as an M.F.A. in creative writing from Emerson College.

His work includes drawing up and executing strategic communications plans, with projects including website design, social media management and training, press outreach, product launches, fundraising campaign support, and event promotions.
