DESCRIPTION:Pre-register on WebSIS and attend first class.\nListeners welcome at individual sessions (series)\nPrereq: Level: G 3 units Standard A – F Grading \nDraft a thesis proposal\, thesis chapter\, journal article\, progress report\, or specification\, and review basics of engineering writing. Sessions cover the processes of organizing and drafting professional papers\, improving writing style\, and revising documents. Students determine own projects; each project increment receives instructor’s editorial suggestions. \nIAP version:This course focuses on improving your ability to communicate technical information. Through a combination of lecture\, assignments\, and in-class writing exercises\, we will cover the basics of working with sources\, including summarizing & paraphrasing\, synthesizing source materials\, citing\, quoting\, and avoiding plagiarism. We will also cover how to write an abstract and a literature review. \nYou must attend all three meetings. No rescheduling is possible.
